We present the inaugural, solo NFT artworks by 10 major contemporary artists in collaboration with SuperRare. In 10x10, each week a leading artist will drop an original, Verisart certified NFT work on SuperRare beginning on Monday, March 1 for a ten-week period.
Participating artists have exhibited at the MoMA, Venice Biennale, LACMA, Centre Pompidou among many others. This is an exciting step for opening up the dialogue between the contemporary art market and the world of NFTs.

We’re much looking forward to publish work in this format, as it seems to be the perfect platform to emphasize some of the digital aspects of our otherwise very tangible practice.

The three artworks in this exhibition, the ‘hosts’ of my show, give the visitors advice about what they should watch. By defining them as NFTs, it affirms their existence on the internet on an immaterial level and characterizes them and the subjects of the exhibition in an interesting way.

As a studio we engage with emerging technologies to direct new forms of moving image, using generative, procedural computer animation to grow digital lifeforms. The digital formats of our works are ideally suited to the emergence of NFT as a new medium.

We have been bridging the space between digital and traditional media at museums, biennials, festivals, and even theaters for over 30 years. It will be very interesting to engage the digitally-native NFT community as an extension of our practice.

Art has power. I’m interested in using art to raise awareness for the important political and social issues of our time. Power has many forms, and is embraced or feared depending on who that power benefits, who it oppresses, who it uplifts, and who wields it.

There’s an incredible feeling of liberation when you realize you’re able to do things which aren’t possible in the real world, when the rules of traditional art media, or even the laws of physics, no longer apply. It’s so exciting that this is happening now and I’m fascinated to see what new genres evolve as it progresses.

In recent years the focus of my practice has been on producing artworks for social spaces. This could equally mean placing works in the streets, a public library, a secure psychiatric unit or in entirely virtual environments. What do the spaces that artworks inhabit tell us about what it is that art can or might do? What do these spaces do to art and what does art do to them?

It’s inspiring to think of working with a platform in an accessible collective place, participating in a collaborative building of something new. Things at this moment in time seem simultaneously of the weightlessness of space and lightness of holding our own collective breath. The work is about exploring and experiencing this.

To be honest, almost everything I’ve seen of NFT artworks makes me cringe or confused. Hopefully whatever I make produces a similar response.

When you buy an NFT artwork, you buy the unique token linked to the artwork. To purchase NFTs you’ll likely need to pay for the work using a cryptocurrency. This involves creating a ‘wallet’ and funding it with a digital currency. We recommend creating a wallet with MetaMask and funding it using Coinbase. Once you’ve bought a work, you’ll have access to the artwork file which you can display on any screen of your choosing. Learn more about getting started as a collector on SuperRare.
How do I make a purchase?
Verisart Certified signifies the artwork is certified by Verisart, an award-winning blockchain certification platform. Designed to empower artists to tell their own story of their work, certificates include additional images, videos and documents. For collectors, Verisart’s patent-pending Certificates of Authenticity (COA) form an integral part of collecting NFTs. They provide confidence in the identity of the artist and the verified history of the artwork.
What is Verisart Certified?
What are NFTs?
NFT stands for ‘non-fungible token’, which means a unique token. NFTs are unique cryptographic tokens, many of which use the Ethereum ERC-721 Smart Contract. They can be used for trading collectibles like digital art, digital baseball cards or in-game purchases. NFTs provide proof of ownership and a transaction history allowing creators to monetize their works and collectors to trade them.
Digital art is now collectible because NFTs provide a way of defining ownership of the file. NFTs have revolutionized the way artists and collectors interact by providing a new and transparent way of collecting art. New and established artists alike are coming into this space, excited by the possibilities it offers. Many platforms, including SuperRare, enforce royalty payments on secondary sales, ensuring artists benefit from their work in the long term.
